Suku's Kya scene hai, reminded me of my fav movies. It includes a list of all time fav's and first name that comes to my mind is "PYAR KIYE JAA".
A very cute movie which had Kishore Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Mumtaz, Mehmood, Om Prakash, Kalpana playing the lead roles, and made way before my entry in the world was decided by my parents.
Pyar Kiye Ja is a simple movie with some hilarious scenes which keep u asking for more.
A few memorable scenes :
Mehmood, a movie crazy, wanna be director, running Wah Wah production company, always in search of a heroine for his movie, finds the love of his life in the wanna-be heroine Mumtaz (as lovely as ever). Catch him explaining the bhoot scene to a petrified Om Prakash, with the required sound effects. I must have watched this movie, God knows how many times, and just cannot wait for this scene to come, a classic scene! Mehmood won the Best Comedian award for this movie that year (1966).
Shashi Kapoor is sacked from the job, in protest he pitches a tent in front of his employers house, the whole scene changes, which his so-called rich dad comes to his rescue.
Kishore Kumar who poses as the wealthy Dad of Shashi Kapoor is at his best. Each time he enters his house, he calls for his so-called son "Ashok Ashok Ashok????" and his typical huii huiii huiii...
Music was by Laxmikanth-Pyarelal, the song "Oh meri myna" by Lata-Manna Dey is still a favourite with the world.
Lots and lots of scenes, a total paisa vasool movie, which remain dew fresh to this day. Guess comedy movies always feature on the top 5 of anybody's favourite list. :)
With my thinking cap on 24/7. On my way to grow wiser and richer in wisdom and experience.
